Afghan Stories (1989–1995) and a novel The Sign of the Beast (1992) are already known in Russia.
The novel The Pan-Pipe of the Universe earlier published in Znamya magazine (1997–1999) is published in a new author’s version. The usual road-story of an adventurer, and later a runaway soldier Daniil Menshikov is transformed into a metaphor novel, revealing the bounds of human freedom. The Pan-Pipe of the Universe is the Nature revealing in human being with opened eyes and ears.
