Gustaw Herling-Grudziński (1919 − 2000) was a Polish writer, journalist, essayist, World War II underground fighter, and political dissident abroad
during the communist system in Poland. Neapolitan Chronicle does not exist in Polish but it could. It is a collection of notes from the diary that the writer was keeping for many years, the so-called Diary Written at Night. For the book Mariusz Wilk has gathered the Italian pages of the diary from 1951 to 2000 which may be the most interesting for the Russian readers.
