Evil has been with us since time immemorial. In modern societies it has become more common and at the same time less noticeable. Liquid evil lurks in the very tissue of human community, in the countless “black holes” of social space, where mutual estrangement have replaced cooperation and solidarity. Evil seduces us by its ordinariness and then jumps out without warning, and the world ends up comparable to a minefield.
