The book by Miron Semenovich Petrovsky, an outstanding native theorist of literature, comprises historical literary short stories. They describe destinies of Soviet child classic literature, the authors of which are Alexander Volkov, Vladimir Mayakovski, Samuel Marshak, Alexei Tolstoy, Korney Chukovsky. The deletions made by censorship in the first edition of 1986 are recollected.
