The essays collected in this book acquaint the reader with the Spanish philosopher's view of the phenomenon of love. It is not just philosophy, but also history, psychology and sociology of love. At the same time a significant part of Ortega's works devoted to the nature of love seem to be some separate pages from the World History of Women. The works included in this book, except for the collection Estudios sobre el amor compiled by the philosopher himself and the essay The Overture to Don Juan, are published in Russian for the first time.
