Italian poetry between the XX and XXI centuries
Compiled by Umberto Piersanti

This book contains authors united primarily by chronology — poets born in the 40s and 50s of the last century. However, the XX century, full of events, was able to place boundaries within relatively short time periods, creating its own idea of generations. For the oldest participant of the anthology, Umberto Piersanti, who witnessed the Second World War, it became such a watershed. For those born in the mid—late 40s and early 50s, the revolutionary 68-69 years, which marked their youth, turned out to be such a milestone.

The second feature that unites the authors is that they think of themselves more in the act of returning to tradition than in the zone of experimental searches.

And finally, perhaps the most important thing: all these poets, who have long been recognized at home, are almost or completely unknown to the Russian reading public.

The collection includes: Umberto Piersanti, Vivian Lamarck, Franco Buffoni, Milo De Angelis, Giancarlo Pontigia, Antonella Anedda, Fabio Pusterla, Gian Mario Villalta.

The anthology is published with the assistance of the World Center for Poetry and Culture "J. Leopardi" in Recanati.
